Christopher Medley was born in Corpus Christi, but was largely raised in Weston, Connecticut, during the years his father, David, worked in New York City. A Texan at heart, Chris returned to the great state of Texas when it was time to select a university. It was at the University of Texas where he met his future wife, Liz Ball. Married for thirty eight years, Dr. and Mrs. Chris Medley have had the pleasure of living in highly desirable locations compliments of the United States Air Force. They started their AF career near the Napa Valley at Travis AFB in California. From there, they had tours in RAF Bentwaters, England; Panama City, Florida; San Antonio, Texas (where he completed his oral surgery residency and medical degree); Ramstein AFB, Germany; and then back to San Antonio as a member of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery staff at Wilford Hall Medical Center. He completed his career as Chairman of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Special Consultant to the Surgeon General.
Both Chris and Liz have been active in the Alamo Heights and San Antonio communities. Besides his professional memberships, Dr. Medley spent many years on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Terrell Hills, a position his wife, Liz, now holds. He is a member of the Conopus Club and the Town Club, as well as the Consejo organization, a group that works year long to raise money for the Rey Feo scholarships benefiting local students. He has been active during Fiesta, both with the Consejo organization and for several years as part of the Host Committee for the Fiesta Commission.
Dr. Medley’s hobbies include following his favorite sports teams, traveling, working out, skiing, golf, and spending time with his family.
Liz has had an active involvement with Fiesta, having served on the Royal Court of Rey Feo LXIII Bill Drain, was Fiesta Ambassador Sponsor for (and past President of) the Military Civilian Club of San Antonio and was on the Host Committee for the Fiesta Commission. She also served as Chairman of the Terrell Hills 4th of July Parade and City Party for ten years.
